Oh that rush of energy to the brain when learning a new skill! The heightened senses and sensitivity to detail when exploring a new city on your own! One of the most enjoyable experiences of my thirties is DEFINITELY my haute couture embroidery classes with Elisabeth Roulleau-Gasbarre. I had been looking at ways to bring my art skills to the next level. I looked for haute couture classes that I could perhaps take on a flexible basis, but I only found courses in Paris that were full time for minimum a semester. Then I stumbled upon Elisabeth’s website. From our first meeting in Lyon, I was hooked on the city, hooked on the crochet of Luneville (pun intended), and hooked on Elisabeth. Fiercely passionate about her craft and passing knowledge on to her students, Elisabeth is a quietly elegant, gentle, sensitive soul. Her greatest joy is seeing her students succeed, content in the knowledge that she passes on in a more gentle, personalized basis than some of the other major schools teaching the same skill. And the young, hip, vibrant city of Lyon was one of the most unexpected delights I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
Here’s wishing you new experiences in foreign lands and opportunities for enhancing your skills.
